2022 Carignan

Planted in the 1940's in deep white sandy clay and loam, these dry farmed bush vines are self rooted. The grapes are farmed by the Graziano’s, once the oldest grape growing families in Mendocino. The grapes were fermented whole cluster in an open top fermenter then barrel aged in neutral French oak. Bottled un-filtered and un-fined very minimal sulfur.

Our Carignan showcases vibrant acidity and a lively, rustic character. On the palate, it’s a mix of tart cherry and blackberry, balanced by herbal, earthy undertones with hints of spice. The tannins are soft yet structured, making it both approachable and complex. Pair with pasta bolognese, Neapolitan pizza or even a juicy hamburger.
